Las Vegas Gambling

What do you do when you are tired of gambling? Are there other things to do?

Above the Las Vegas traffic

Maybe take the new monorail to another casino.

Thrill ride that scares you

There are several thrill rides to try. A number of different roller coasters just waiting for you.

dangling above the ground

Some of the rides will really thrill you while you are dangling hundreds of feet above the ground.

Now you are ready for something that is as tame as a museum.

For decades, Liberace was known for his music, candelabra, diamonds, and dazzle.
Over the years, he had such awards as Best dressed Entertainer and Entertainer of the year.
Along with that were two Emmy Awards and six gold records. Made the Guinness Book of World Records for being the highest paid musician and pianist.
Mr. Showmanship himself

Mr Showman

In 1955, he opened in the Las Vegas Riviera Hotel as the highest paid entertainer in the cities history.
Liberace has transported audiences to a dazzling world of color, glitter and music.
Liberace’s ledged lives on in The Liberace Museum that houses his collection of rare antique pianos, classic cars, bejeweled costumes and beautiful furs and rings.
The museum is so large it is divided into two areas. Building one houses the pianos and cars. There is a lot of each. One car is completely covered with tiny mirror squares to name one of the extreme ones. Building two houses costumes, furs coats, and jewelry collections.
The Liberace Museum is located at 1775 E. Tropicana Ave.
This is something you will want to see the next time you are in Las Vegas.
I could not believe the complete squander of money, but he had it to do as he pleased. It is still very interesting to see how the other half live.

Little Hollywood

Western Movies

Kanab, Utah

Actors like John Wayne, Clint Eastwood, Raquel Welch, Charlton Heston, Gregory Peck, James Stewart and Glen Ford.
See the old movies sets where the films were made.
It is called Frontier Movie Town.
Kanab got its nickname “ Little Hollywood “ by the movies that were filmed here.
Movies like Stagecoach, and Outlaw Josey Wales. Many others as well.
They don’t make western movies like that anymore.
You will find preserved movies sets to look through. Rent an authentic western costume for an old-fashion photograph or video.
Eat lunch or dinner in the spacious room where walls are decorated with movie pictures and gear.
Outside old wagons serve as seats for gun battles and the evening program.
This is a fun place for the whole family.

Zion National Park Utah

When ask why Zion Park in Utah was named Zion, because it is a little bit of heaven on earth the Mormon settlers said.

Sheer thousand foot walls

Sheer thousand foot walls of multicolored Navajo sandstone, which is another name for petrified sand, are awe-inspiring. Even the drive into the Zion canyon is unique with its tunnels that the road goes through. They are over a mile long with windows looking out to create more light in the tunnel.

We went in the middle of Oct. when tourist season was light.
Starting at the Visitors Center and viewing all the displays and programs.

From the moon roof

Riding the shuttle bus made taking pictures easy with its large windows and even a moon roof.

Leaving the driving to them

Ridding the shuttle bus was very convent for taking pictures. The large shuttle buses run from April to October for all of your activities, hiking and biking trails, rock wall climbing and just for seeing the sights.

Free Budweiser

This buds for you.
Clydesdales, a living symbol of Anheuser-Busch, the largest brewer in the world.
This massive horse of impressive size displays a remarkable ability in precision. Thrilling audiences in all of their performances.

The horses travel with expert handlers who care for and show the Clydesdale team.
It takes three caravans of custom built-vans, with thick rubber flooring, air suspension and vent fans to ease long hours on the road.
Two of the three vans are used to transport the horses; the other van is used for the red brewery wagon and gear.
The Dalmatian goes along too.

Puppy in training

It takes 5 hours to prepare the horses for an appearance. The Clydesdales are shampooed, and brushed until they shine.
Special care is taken to get the feet to feather; they have to be soft and fluffy white.
The mane and tail is braded with colorful ribbons and flowers.
The Champion Clydesdales are then completed with black leather harness trimmed in silver and brass.
The Dalmatian ascot rides atop the wagon. In the ones we seen there was a puppy in training.

See Them in Action

There are 5 traveling teams of Clydesdales. Here in the West we can catch them at Sea World of California, San Diego, Ca. and Anheuser-Busch Brewery in Ft. Collins, Co.
Each year the Clydesdales travel more than 100,000 miles and appear in 500 events.
These beautiful animals with precision, grace and power.
If you are lucky when you see them, you may get a free bud souvenir.

Out of Africa Camp Verde Arizona

The new Out of Africa Wildlife Park in Camp Verde, Arizona is located on 104 acres of open land at the base of the Mingus Mountain, just south of Sedona.
The Wild life Park has over 400 animals for your viewing pleasure.

You can choose to walk or ride to see the animals.
We choose to ride and there were many vehicles to take you to the different show areas, so the waiting time was short.
Our first choice was to go on the Serengeti Safari for 45 minutes. The safari vehicle took us to the bush where we encounter animals running loose like you would see on any African Safari. These animals came right up to the vehicle to greet us. Zebras that knew where the driver kept the goody bag. A nosey Ostrich that was looking for a treat or a shinny button to grab and run off with.
A big giraffe that wanted to give someone a big slobbery kiss.

It was a little difficult to get a picture with a truck full of people. We kept leaning over one another.
You could however go as many times as you wanted to to get those best shots.
