LIFE ON THE OPEN ROAD

Sea Eagle Inflatable Boats

LIFE ON THE OPEN ROAD

If the recent home make-over craze has reveled anything, it is that the Americans are looking for something more than just bare essentials when it comes to their living arrangements----and one of these is the family RV.
With all the new features it is like taking your hotel room with you.
It is really a home away from home, or in some cases better than your full time home.
They are nice and high end.
The kitchen has all the latest appliances wrapped in maple cabinets and corium countertops. Microwaves built in, full range, and frig. Complete with a pantry.
Living room has a flat screen TV and an incredible fully intergraded surround-sound audio system. Vented air and heat.
Bedroom has queen walk around bed, closets, drawers, and even a hole to let your dirty clothes go into a basket in the basement.
Bathroom with walk-in shower, skylight, linen closet, clothes closet, drawers, and full sized medicine cabinet.
It is more than just the accessories that are making RV’s more like homes, it is the available slides.
Slide outs, is an industry term to describe a wall of a motor home, camper, fifth wheel, or travel trailer that extends outward when parked to make the RV wider.
Our new travel trailer has a large slide; yes they come in sizes and amounts, up to 5 on some 5 wheels.
Ours has a large slide with the breakfast nook and the couch in the slide out. This makes the kitchen and living room 12 feet wide when we are parked.
Then roll the slide in and off you go to the next RV spot.
Another space feature is the storage docks below the living area. Known as the basement.
Yes they have basements too.
These open space area’s have enough room to pack all your extra clothing and gear that you will need and a lot that you will never use.
It is now much easier to pack up for three or four months at a time or longer.
Because RV’s can be financed as a second home, even the nicest RV’s are affordable.
The newest of RV’s is the toy hauler. It is a fifth wheel that has the back end that comes down and you can load your ATV’s for the entire off road fun. Even comes complete with its own gas station.
What is next? We can only wonder.

PENGUINS IN SWEATERS?

March of the Penguins DVD

PENGUINS IN SWEATERS?

Just when you think you have heard and seen it all-----you haven’t.
Saving the Penguins, recovering them after oil spills.
The smallest breeds of penguins called “fairy penguins” tend to always get caught in oil spills, off the coast of Australia.
This is a deadly problem for the little one foot tall fellows.
Oil destroys their natural oils and they ingest the poison sludge when they try to get it off of themselves.
Help is rallying around and they have found a cure for this disaster.
Doll sized tight-fitting wool sweaters are being knitted by the LDS women. The sweaters can keep the rescued penguins from cold and ingesting the oil.
The sweaters improve the survival rate to about 98%.
Tourists flock to see the tiny penguins as they parade nightly from sea to shore in, Victoria, Australia.
So far 1800 sweaters have been knitted by 300 women.

4. Open new file in your PC
5. Name it housework
6. Send the new file to the recycle bin

8. Calmly answer yes, and press the mouse button firmly
9. Fill better? Works for me...

WOULD YOU REALLY DO THAT?

When I'm an old lady, I'll live with each kid,

And bring so much happiness...just as they did.

I want to pay back all the joy they've provided.

Returning each deed! Oh, they'll be so excited!

(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)

I'll write on the wall with reds, whites and blues,

And I'll bounce on the furniture...wearing my shoes.

I'll drink from the carton and then leave it out.

I'll stuff all the toilets and oh, how they'll shout!

(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)

When they're on the phone and just out of reach!

I'll get into things like sugar and bleach.

Oh, they'll snap their fingers and then shake their head,

(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)

When they cook dinner and call me to eat,

I'll not eat my green beans or salad or meat,

I'll gag on my okra, spill milk on the table,

And when they get angry..I'll run...if I'm able!

(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)

I'll sit close to the TV, through the channels I'll click,

I'll cross both eyes just to see if they stick!

I'll take off my socks and throw one away,

And play in the mud 'til the end of the day!

(When I'm an old lady and live with my kids)

And later in bed, I'll lay back and sigh,

I'll thank God in prayer and then close my eyes.

My kids will look down with a smile slowly creeping,

And say with a groan, “she’s so sweet when she’s sleeping’

NEW SPINE REPAIR

Get a FREE Quote

Today as I was sitting here with a hurting back, I was thinking how many people I know and how this may help us all.
In the Salt Lake City Tribune, the FDA gives the green light for this Salt Lake City Company to use a ceramic device for spine-repair.
Car crashes, degenerative bone disease and all those other injuries to the spine, there is a new option for replacing parts of the spine.
Amedica, got clearance to market ceramic devices that can replace discs and other parts of the spine.
The only way to do a spine repair is to harvest bones from cadavers. Sometimes they use your leg bone if they can. The people have told me that hurt worse than the back repair.
This would eliminate that procedure.
The spine spacers are used when patients have suffered damage to discs or the bone of the spine.
Once the damaged material is surgically removed, a ceramic piece is attached to the spinal column. As bone grows, it begins to bind with the ceramic spacer; eventually bone will surround the entire device.
The spacer gives the spine strength and prevents movement during the bone-regrowth process.
When cadaver bone is grated there is a risk of disease transmission, the spacer would cut down that risk.
Ceramic material will be easier to see in a medical imaging device where the old titanium one made it difficult to see in x-ray.
The procedure will begin soon at the local hospitals soon.
This is a new procedure not all Doctors may know about it yet.

Ample RV sites, great gambling, water sports, and golf.
This is a fast growing small town at the southwest border of Nevada and Arizona.
It is what Las Vegas use to be uncomplicated, friendly, affordable, and fun. The casino’s overlooks the beautiful Colorado River.
There are nine casinos within walking distance of one another.
When we were there we took a day and went to Oatman, a small mining town.
Oatman, Arizona is 30 miles southeast of Laughlin on Route 66.
Oatman stands as a tribute to a bygone way of life.
In 1906 a tent camp and flourishing as a gold-mining boom-town. In 1930 Oatman almost dried up when America’s World War 11 effort no longer required gold to sustain it.
Marketing itself as an authentic ghost town, Oatman now draws more than 500,000 tourists to its town.
This small town has narrow streets and limited parking. Gun fights and wild burros running the streets add to the congestion. But that is what Oatman is all about. The wild burros are left over from mining days; they are always looking to tourists for a handout. If you feed one they will follow you right to your car. They will get into your pocket, in your purse and just know you must have something for them to eat. They will follow you to your car. When I got in the car one was going to sit on my lap. He just knew I had a treat from him. The young ones are cute enough to bring home.
They practically own the place, nosing into shops, nuzzling into anything you have and just expecting you to give them a treat.
The gunfight is at regular intervals with plenty of noise, smoke and old west antics.
They still have famous people stay at the hotels.
One of the all times favorite Clark Gable chose to bring Carole Lombard on March 29, 1939. The hotel was the Oatman Hotel. You can view the honey moon suite where they stayed.
Oatman is a restored ghost town with a lot of good places to eat, places to shop and hotels to stay in. There is one café that will cook you a rattlesnake if you want one.
But watch out for the burros they will love you to death.
