Bald Eagle in the Crosshairs

Today the Government took the American Bald Eagle off the endangered list. I think this will be a grave mistake and the eagles will all be in the crosshairs.
The Bald Eagle is the symbol of our nation.
They were once almost wiped out by hunters and DDT poisoning.
With four decades of struggle they are starting to recover.
Government biologist has counted nearly 10,000 mating pairs of Bald Eagles.
The President has assured us that we will see more of them now that they are off the endangered list and are no longer in jeopardy.
Once the number of Bald Eagles was believed to be close to a half million.
A sum of ten thousand mating pairs does not give me any reassurance of seeing more now.
What kind of logic could that be?
