Shiprock New Mexico
About 90 miles north of Gallup, within the Navajo Indian Reservation, towers Shiprock.
This isolated rock formation resembles a huge ship under sail.
It looks so out of place on the desert.
This Shiprock has served as a landmark for both Indians and White men for centuries.
It is like a beacon in the desert and can be seen for miles. Keeping travelers on the right trail.
Near the town of the same name, just north west is the only point in the United States where four state corners meet.
It is called the Four Corners.
The states that connect are Utah,Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona.
At the Four Corner there is a monument where you could set on the corner markers and be in all four states at the same time.
