Tucson Cactus and Biosphere 2

Tucson has cactus everywhere

Prickly Pear

Desert plants are not dull or drab

Tucson Biosphere 2

Biosphere 2
20 minutes North of Tucson on Hwy. 77.

A three-acre glass enclosed greenhouse experiment. The Biosphere 2 was built to resemble our own earth, complete with rain forest, desert, farmlands and ocean.
With a cost of 150 million dollars it is made with 6500 miles of glass, air tight and controlled by computers. It is a miniature model of our earth.
Four men and four women lived here and raised their own food for 2 years in 1993.
Take the hour tour it is however a hard walks if you are not fit.

I have listed only a few of the things to do in Tucson.
We did what we had time to do. The cactus was everywhere with hundreds of species in a natural desert setting
