Phoenix Stadium

Having the only retractable natural grass playing field in North America. This Stadium field of grass rolls in and out of the building on a 12 million pound rail tray.
The grass field resides outside until there is a need to play on it.
The grass field runs on a rail that is slow and precise and never deviates 1/16 of and inch, off the rail. This process takes 45 minutes to complete.
The University of Phoenix Stadium is a multipurpose stadium so the grass floor is only rolled in when a grass playing field is needed.
The amount of concrete used in this Glendale Cardinals Stadium would make 900 miles of sidewalks.
