Once In a Lifetime Treck
Be a Pioneer for a Day
Hand Cart Trek, and Educational Experience.
So you want to be a pioneer? Well now is your chance.
Each summer at The Mormon Handcart Visitors Center, you can check out a handcart and try your hand at being a pioneer.
It is a family experience.
Church groups, families, and singles are all welcome.
You can go for a few days or a few hours. What ever amount of time you want to take.
Be sure to bring water, food, blankets, but remember-what ever you bring you will have to push in your cart.
When you arrive at the visitor’s center you will have to check out the handcart of your choice. There are a couple of different ones to choose from.
Many people come in pioneer clothing to get the real feel of the experience. It is not a must, it is optional.
If you would just like to visit the center and learn about this yearly event, they have a museum on the handcart pioneers and a movie about them. It is very interesting and educational.
There is a camp ground for tents and RV’s, the visitor’s center can advise you as to where it is located.
Be sure to bring good walking shoes and hats, it is a desert after all, hot and dusty.
