To commemorate that event, a monument was erected.
The Old Desert Village is collection of more than 40 historic homes and buildings. The village is brought to life by historical interpreters, in pioneer dress, recreating life in the mid-1800’s, in Salt lake City, Utah.

The monument and visitors center is open year round. Old Desert village is open from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
This is a beautiful place to come. It has many statutes that tell the stories.
You can spend a lot of time just looking and reading about the history, past.
